For Blake's Birthday my parents got him two fishing poles & a tackle box
City boy now owns some country things!
So Blake came over and wanted to try 'em out.
( 16 days away from our wedding - when there were PLENTY more things we should have been doing)
but oh well. Fun is also a requirement in this whole ordeal.
Blake got our poles ready. & we were ready to head to the lake.
oh. wait. BAIT.
While most fish eat Crickets or Worms.
(both of which we did not have)
we thought we'd bait our fish with...
yeah that's right - sara lee, turkey breast!
We chunked some in the pond to try & call all the fish up.
then baited our hooks with this delectable lunch meat.
to our surprise, they were not biting.
some kind of picky fish we have out there.
Head back to my parents house determined to find some real bait.
& we find... My Father.
A REAL country boy.
Who just shakes his head at our Fish Bait.
& the hooks.
oh. and the way the floaters were put on...
fortunately he was kind enough...after he laughed.
& fixed it all for us
After we went to town & got some worms.
- from a vending machine -
yes, be jealous.
in chipley - we vend our bait.
best invention, ever.
well... almost.
then sped home. literally.
to catch some fish before the sun went down...

to catch some fish before the sun went down...
I'm Marrying quiet the STUD :)
From the looks of it - we'll never have to worry about food on our table.

ReplyDeletei don't know what those fish were thinking, isn't their motto "nobody doesn't like sara lee"? looks like their wrong.
can't wait to celebrate your nuptials!
Great story!! The first time I ever went fished with my friends at the beach we lost the lure within the first like 10 minutes. Cute story though. Welcome to blogging it's pretty awesome!
