Apparently I should have waited a few days before I wrote my last post. 

should've known we'd be down another animal.

or two.

Blackie, Blackie II & Mallie at Lunch

Sunday January 6th around 3:00pm

Quacky Blacky Anderson passed away due to a gentle dog attack.

Blackie was a good ole duck.

She loved her new home in the pond -

but always found time to visit her parents...

like most kids do, to eat!

She enjoyed quacking and

shaking her tail feathers.

She is survived by two loving parents.

and siblings:

Mallie (Duck), Blacky II (Duck),
Mater (Chicken), George (Rooster), Blacky (Chicken), Goldie (Chicken)

She was buried on the side of the road.

In all seriousness.
I almost broke out in tears when we got home from church and Nala had so kindly killed another pet.

Nala is seriously the "kindest killer" I've ever seen.

Maybe we shouldn't have gotten her a squeaky duck toy to play with. 

Either way. We're two animals down in the space of two weeks.

due to Nala.

First she killed our Americana. 

Now she's Killed Blackie.

So we had to make a decision. 

Do we want to keep our Birds.

or do we want to keep our Dog.

We've definitely put more money into the dog.

but we've only had the dog for a couple of months -

so I wasn't attached to that cute, friendly, killing thing, yet.

 Needless to say, the dog is at my Uncles.

 & we're looking to get some more birds.
