The beginning of January we went to the Florida vs. Florida State Men's Basketball game in Tallahassee. Blake received a pair of tickets from his Brother & Sister-in-Law for Christmas, and I was the lucky one to get to mooch off of his present.
I'm usually pretty Anti FSU Men's Basketball. For a couple reasons, mainly because I don't think they are good... That's a good enough reason right? However, either they have gotten better or Florida got worse, because it was a pretty exciting game that ended with a Florida player tipping the ball in Florida States basket with .03 seconds left in the game. Crazy Right?

FROM THE MOUTH OF BABES:
At Church I am fortunate enough to Serve in the Primary! Not kidding, I love my calling.
Earlier this month I had to fill in for a teacher that didn't make it. So I taught the 6 year olds. This particular class I used to teach on the regular when they were 4, and I've taught them several times since, so they're very familiar with me.
One of the little girls in class told me my collar was flipped up. So I precede to fix it and said
"Sometimes I don't have it all together - so y'all will have to keep me straight"
"Sometimes I don't have it all together - so y'all will have to keep me straight"
The cutest little country boy with the most adorable accent says
" Um, Your Hair, it's kinda fuzzy and all"
" Um, Your Hair, it's kinda fuzzy and all"
I laughed. I mean, he wasn't kidding.
and I had just told them to keep my straight.
It was one of my fancier buns, but this humidity has been killing it.
and the little girls says
" Yeah maybe you should use some hairspray or something"
I laughed so ridiculously hard. That was definitely a story that was told at family dinner.
I love the honesty of kids.
WESA:
Mid January we took a business trip to Denver. For WESA: Western/English Apparel Market
This year we had a few mishaps in the airport. Our plane was delayed in Panama because there was a technical issue with the plane. The lady at the kiosk adivsed that we just go home and try again tomorrow ( In the words of my nephew I said, " You're kidding, right"). Finally the plane gets fixed, and it looks as though we will make our connection in Atlanta. We are on schedule, going down to land, about to touch the runway, and all of a sudden the plane take a quick pull upward... Akward. We are now heading straight up into the sky. The pilot comes over the speaker and says, " The gildescope on the plane went out - we are going to see if we can fix it or figure something else out " - Not the most comforting thing in the world. During that time we are just flying straight away from the airport "figuring something out" - We landed about 15 minutes later, missing our connection. They told us we would have to spend the night in the airport. Dad took care of that, and we were on the next flights out. It was by far my craziest plane experience.
So WESA: It's a thing we started since I began working at the store. Basically 2 days of intense buying. Picture 8:30 am - 6 pm of absolutely nothing but shopping. Yeah, it gets a little tiring. We usually don't slow down for lunch, and then just eat a nice dinner. It's tiring, but It's always nice for a little change of scenery & to just get a way.
Market Day 1 |
As much fun as it is to get a way - it's always nice to get back home. I mainly like to take pictures in the sky. Seriously, it's gorgeous. Flying into Panama is especially gorgeous.
Odds & Ends:
I finally got a picture frame for the picture my sister got me for Christmas. That was well worth documenting. "Bind my wandering heart to thee" - Part of a verse from one of my favorite hymns.
We've been working crazy hard on a new website at the store. Here's a sneak preview of the bottom of the homepage. Only because Blake is that cute cowboy in the picture was it worth documenting.
& HOME - One of my favorite places to be. Every night when we pull in our driveway we see dear, rabbits, and every other sort of wildlife that lives out here. We love it.
